Mr. John L. Lanny Hardy, Sr., 67, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016. Lanny was a native of Jacksonville, a graduate of Ribault High School, Class of 1967 and a Veteran of the US Marine Corps, Vietnam. He is preceded in death by his parents: Wilmer & Alta Hardy; three sisters: Jean Coleman, Joy Hardy McKenzie and Duane Major Denneen; a brother: Ronald E. Ronnie Roberts. Survivors include his two children: Jessicah Hardy Hunsucker and John L. Hardy, Jr.; three sisters: Judy (Larry) Wise, Sheryl (Harvey) Rohn, Bell (Bruce) Isreals; a brother: James Jimbo Hardy; numerous grandchildren; a great grandchild and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Graveside Services, with Military Honors, will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Flanagan officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the Riverview Chapel of Peeples Family Funeral Homes, 2220 Soutel Drive, near Lem Turner Road. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Veterans Organization of your choice.
